Held at the St Stephen’s School Theatre yesterday, we are pleased to report that Alliance were awarded the gold medal in the Open Quartet division of the AAMBS Western Region Convention.
The field in the contest was the biggest in years and it was great to see a good number of representatives in every age bracket as well as a number of first time competitors. This contest, whilst important in its own right, is also the qualifying round for the AAMBS National Quartet Contest to be held in Hobart, Tasmania in September.
Our congratulations also go out to our Vocal Evolution chorus buddies in the quartets Nexus and 3 Men and a Tenor who placed second and third respectively in the Open Quartet contest. Vocal Evolution quartets also won the Schools (Fridge Magnets), Youth (3 Men and a Tenor) and Seniors divisions (Back To Bassics) – a clean sweep!
